“Ajax Video Issue ”

  • Liam De
    Hi,

I'm having an issue with the theme whereby when the users visits the homepage for the first time they can't view the videos. Only if they navigate to another page and come back to the homepage do they re-appear.

Have just re-installed the default theme and when testing on the lastest version of chrome on windows and mac after deleting the cache the videos on the homepage don't display, the black ajax loader appears and then another smaller image but the video doesn't appear and literally freezes the screen.

Any assistance with this would be great.

    Thanks,

    Liam

    Hi Liam,

thank you for your purchase! Appreciate it.

As far as your issue goes, I just took the time to test your site out in all of the popular browsers, including the latest version of Google Chrome, and your videos worked without a single glitch. Having said that, this must have been something on your end, not only because everything worked on every machine I tried, but also because you are the first person who reported experiencing such a problem, among more than 4500+ other buyers of the theme, and that tells something. I've had tons of people use vimeo videos without any issues, and besides that, they always worked perfectly in the demo of the theme as well, which you can check out for you self.

By the way, if you still somehow continue experiencing the same problem, please feel free to contact me by replying to this ticket, and I will make sure I inspect things again.

    Sincerely,

Thanks for looking into this Zlatan, it's just I tested on my windows and mac and got 4 other people to test and were having the same issue when visiting the homepage for the first time. The live site is bestdayproductions.com, the issue was here so I installed the default theme at bia.so and was having the same issue. Just wondering if there is anything you can see that would be causing this issue.

    Hi there,

    you are very much welcome.

I just finished inspecting the live version of the site on the domain you provided me with in your last reply, and I did experience something unusual this time around. I tried to open the first item, and it wasn't dynamically loaded on the same page with AJAX as usual, but on a new page, which is not how the theme should behave by default. However, by visiting the same link on another computer in Chrome, nothing unusual happened; the portfolio worked perfectly fine.

By taking all that into consideration, I see that you or someone else modified the theme's code, so now the portfolio animations behave a bit wonky. Those modifications could be the cause behind all this, as no one ever experienced anything similar with this theme, as I already stated before. However, this could be down to some plugin that you have installed, or possibly a corrupt version of WordPress, so my best suggestion for you now is to disable all the plugins temporarily, to see if anyone of them is the cause of this. If that doesn't work, then maybe reinstalling WordPress will, so I suggest you try that as well.

FYI, I tried on multiple computers, but I couldn't recreate the issue on the initial domain you provided me with.

    Sincerely,
